Calgary safety council
The Calgary Safety Council is a non-profit, non-government charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of safety and the prevention of injuries and fatalities on the streets and highways, in the home and work place. Often mistaken for a department of the City of Calgary, the Calgary Safety Council's formation as an autonomous organization was initiated over 50 years ago as a result of vehicle safety checks.
Liaison is maintained not only with the Canada Safety Council but with safety organizations throughout Canada and the U.S., departments of the Federal and Provincial governments, numerous City of Calgary departments including Police, Fire, Transportation, Parks and Recreation, the Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School Board, private schools, and many more,
The membership of the Calgary Safety Council represents all major sectors of industry, business, government and volunteer agencies, as well as individuals with personal interest in safety promotion and accident prevention.
The membership annually elects a board of directors which establishes policy and directs the affairs of the Council. The programs of the Council are administered by a small, dedicated professional staff.
The Calgary Safety Council is supported by revenue through courses, programs, and fund raising activities including special events and donations from the private and corporate sector. 100% or your donation and membership stays in the Calgary area
The Calgary Safety Council welcomes donations to assist us with our quality programs. If you would like to donate to the Calgary Safety Council, please visit our Donations Page. All donations are greatlyappreciatedand will receive an income tax receipt..
